Norma
Norma is a standard applicant applying to NYCHA and is placed on the waitlist until selected for Section 8. She then goes through the process to determine eligibility and move-in and goes through the annual recertification process after a year.
Isaac
Isaac is a NYCHA inspector who is working with the system to get his schedule which contains both annual and special inspections. He conducts inspections in the field using a NYCHA tablet.
Adam
Adam is porting-in to NYCHA from a PHA and is on public assistance.
Carl/Cathy
Carl works at the call center and Cathy manages correspondence and information requests for the authority.
Betty
Betty is a current tenant living in a public housing unit that undergoes a RAD conversion. After the conversion, she completes her annual recertification and the PACT developer has conducted a contract rent change.
Frank
Frank and his son lose their jobs and his daughter moves out of the unit. Frank files an interim recertification requesting a financial hardship proration and minimum rent. NYCHA must determine his new HAP payment and utility allowance.
Roberta
Roberta originally requests a transfer and later reports she is a victim of domestic violence. As a result, she needs to move out of her unit and ultimately out of the City for her safety.
Daniel
Daniel’s father is the head of household, who is disabled. He does not complete the annual recertification and is subsequently moved-out. Upon follow-up notification, Daniel assists his father in requesting a restoration/reinstatement of subsidy and going through the restoration/reinstatement of subsidy process. Shortly thereafter, Daniel’s father passes away and Daniel is placed as the head of household.
Oscar
Oscar is a new landlord that registers for the program. After a year, he requests a lease renewal and increases his rent.
